A hand-illustrated map of the South Downs

for the newly renovated Swan Inn.
Commissioned by Studio Everything In Between, we collaborated to create a simplified map to help visitors explore the area around the inn during their stay, complete with hand-drawn icons of local landmarks like the Weald & Downland Museum, Arundel Castle, Goodwood Estate, Petworth House, and more.

From the late 18th to early 20th century, the Swan Inn was a celebrated retreat for artists, writers, and cultural icons — from John Constable and Rudyard Kipling to Diana Dors and Emmeline Pankhurst.
To honour that legacy, each room has been named and themed after one of these notable guests. The beautifully crafted key boxes are more than functional—each illustration is a small tribute, capturing the spirit and story of the individual behind the door.
